Flexitimers.com, a totally new concept in the job recruitment market has been launched. Flexitimers.com was established to address the needs of professional people who want to work flexibly and employers who wish to recruit staff with experience and skills but not on a permanent basis.
Flexitimers.com which is located at NovaUCD, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at UCD, was established in 2007 by two female entrepreneurs, Dervla Cunningham and Joy Redmond, who saw a niche in the market which they needed themselves.

Flexitimers.com caters for all professionals for whom the usual 9-5, 5 days a week is not what they want. Examples include professionals who want classic part-time employment, or freelancers who prefer to work on a project or contract basis, or mothers who wish to keep their careers alive while raising a family. Also included are retired individuals who wish to continue to exploit their experience and expertise or professionals who are just looking to supplement their income.

Dervla Cunningham is a founder of two previous start-up companies, Zartis.com and Arekibo Communications. She co-founded Zartis, an ebusiness services company in 1998 which was subsequently sold for Irish £18 million to Boston-based Breakaway Solutions. In 2000 she co-founded Arekibo Communications, a web design and internet consultancy company where she managed and sold a large number of web projects in both the public and private sector. She left Arekibo in 2007 to co-found Flexitimers.com.
Joy Redmond was until recently a full-time lecturer in ebusiness, research and marketing in the Dublin Institute of Technology and was Course Director of the Masters Degree in Business and Entrepreneurship. She has been a market researcher for many blue chip companies including Bank of Ireland, eircom and NTL. She was Marketing Director of newmedia.ie and the online marketing manager of ingredientsnet.com.
