Montreal’s infantry rockers Special Ops are preparing to invade Toronto for a double assault on Friday, October 10th at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, 410 Sherbourne Street 8pm by Awsum Ink Ent. & Wednesday, October 22nd at Smiling Buddha Lounge, 961 College St. West for a performance at the 2nd Annual Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards Recognition Night.
This is quite an achievement for Special Ops after returning to touring dates after the unfortunate news that Bassist Waldo Thornhill was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier in spring 2008.
“We are so honoured to be returning back to Toronto, this city has always been great to us, all the recruits for the Special Ops infantry have just been amazing.” Says Special Ops guitarist Akbar Johnson. “I can’t wait to shoot off our rockets again, it’s been awhile since we’ve played Toronto and to return to the trenches here in Toronto is continuing the uphill battle.”
