On Saturday, September 27, 2008 Ridgeview Valley’s historic valley rang to the Celtic sounds of Wolf Creek Session playing a charitable concert for Cindy’s Fund. This wonderful event marked the initiation of the outdoor amphitheatre as the newest amenity to be added at Ridgeview Valley, Deep Creek’s newest full amenity planned community.
Residents and prospective buyers enjoyed a pre-concert party while the band set up in the barn doorway, and perfected their acoustics. The music came to life around 7pm to the joy of approximately 100 people in attendance. Food and drink was provided by Jearbryo’s, on Mosser Road, serving their famous Crab Cakes and The Lakeside Creamery, on Rt. 219, serving their award winning homemade ice cream. Both donated a portion of their proceeds to Cindy’s Fund. Concert goers brought chairs and blankets and sat under the threatening Garrett County skies. The damp weather didn’t dampen spirits as Wolf Creek Session played their high-energy jigs and reels.
Wolf Creek Session offers up an exciting and unique blend of Appalachian tunes with traditional and contemporary Celtic roots, sprinkled with original song and stories. From high-energy jigs and reel to their more modern descendants, their music is quickly landing them on prestigious American stages like the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in Washington D.C., a scheduled appearance at the Charleston Cultural Center, and internationally with a spring tour of France.
