Follow on Google News | People Telling Story Through That’s My Home TownThousands of people have discovered how they can find historic photos or tell the story of the town they grew up in through ThatsMyHomeTown.com.
By: Ravenwood Creations “The site was built because I miss my home town,” site’s owner Pamela Ravenwood said. “It has changed a lot since I have become an adult and I love finding old photos of it. I love exchanging memories with others who grew up with me about where things were and which store was where? So many buildings get destroyed, streets redrawn, it can take away everything you recall from your hometown. By recalling these memories, finding old photos and sharing this information, we are preserving our past for our children.” “When I served as the Executive Director for a Historical Society, we had people coming in all the time who wanted to talk about how the town used to look, what they used to do as children, places they hid or hung out. Likewise, we had people coming in who wanted to hear those stories. This website serves as a forum for both.” “Using ThatsMyHomeTown.com is a free service.” Ravenwood said. “You don’t even have to log in. You can peruse the entries and if you have one to add, fill out our online form. I think review those forms and put them up on the site by hand. Everybody has a story to tell. Now is the time to start recording history so that as much information is gathered as possible. That is why we encourage everybody to tell us their story, not only of the town they grew up in but even the town they are currently living in. We want to make this site an ongoing source for years to come where such history is recorded and maintained.” # # # Ravenwood Creations is a marketing company and owner of numerous websites. We specialize in SEO, SEM, press releases, marketing, article writing and more.
