September 22, 2008 (Ottawa, Canada) – NorthSeas AMT (NorthSeas) the pioneer of e-mail
archiving software for appliance solutions, today announced the launch of NorthSeas
Certification. The new certification program qualifies specific vendor storage systems
and server-appliance hardware as tested to work with NorthSeas software.
Although the NorthSeas software is vendor-neutral, designating specific products as
“NorthSeas Certified” provides customers with the extra confidence of tested
solutions. The new certification program recognizes the additional effort of partners
willing to demonstrate support for the NorthSeas system.
The two levels of certification described below are applicable to both storage and
server-appliance products.
NorthSeas Certified
Products that have been successfully tested by NorthSeas to support its email
archiving software
NorthSeas Gold Certified
Products that in addition to having been tested, are also currently installed
in the NorthSeas lab
Vendors with products qualified under this program have the right to use one of the
two official certification logos (below).
NorthSeas vendor-independent e-mail archiving application was originally developed
for appliance-based solutions, although other types of servers are being added.
Customers can deploy almost any network storage system as their archival
repository. The NorthSeas Certification Program is for hardware manufacturers and
OEMs seeking qualification of a product as an approved NorthSeas operating
platform, and for vendors who want their storage product certified for use as a
NorthSeas Archive.
NorthSeas has so far certified products from Intel, SuperMicro, MPC Computers, KOM
Networks, ProStor Systems, Plasmon, STORServer, Permabit, and IdealStor. Vendors
