Top Careers educates 14-19 year olds on science, maths & engineering careers
Students considering their future career options are being offered a helping hand from a very enjoyable source courtesy of an innovative card game called Top Careers TM.
Award winning Top Careers is a game based on the Top Trumps concept with which many students are familiar. It is all about enthusing and educating 14-19 year olds about the myriad career opportunities available to them within specific industries - in a fun way.
Part of a wider range of educational resource games known as Loop Card Games (http://www.loopgames.co.uk), Top Careers boosts awareness of professions in the science, mathematics and engineering sectors and helps to encourage pupils to take up subjects that have been considered difficult and boring in the past.
Informed Career Choices
Physics teacher Eiman Munro is the director of Loop Card Games. She says, “All too often students are not given enough information about the career options suited to their skills and abilities and they frequently wind up following run-of-the-mill career paths. Sadly this means they could miss out on a career which offers great enjoyment. None of this is ideal for the student, and it certainly isn’t good for the country’s currently unbalanced workforce either.”

Each Top Careers card is sponsored by a well known company related to the industry; for example, British Airways sponsors the Airline Pilot Career Card. Other high profile sponsors include Rolls Royce and The Institution of Civil Engineers.
