2009 The Year of the Spa!

Oct. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- That’s because on April 17th and 18th of 2009 the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in association with the City of New Westminster will be holding the first ever Spa Education Expo.
This expo is a first of its kind event and will have appeal not only to Spa Owners and Practitioners and people working in the health and wellness industry, but also to anyone and everyone who has an interest in the Spa Industry in general and more specifically the education and training of spa professionals.
This not-for-profit event was originally donating its proceeds to complementary healthcare scholarships until one of the West Coast’s most beloved instructors was stricken with cancer. In an effort to provide assistance in this dire time of need, the College has decided to donate all proceeds from the event to what is being called the “Rich Hawes Kicking Cancer Fund”.
“Spa Education Expo 2009 is a North America first, sure to provide something for everybody and represents a great opportunity to learn, grow, enjoy and improve health and well-being” said Cidalia Paiva, Executive Director of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
“And the fact that proceeds will be going to the Rich Haws Kicking Cancer Fund gives a great event a great purpose and one our whole community and anyone who has ever supported a loved one afflicted with cancer can stand behind”.
The event is co-sponsored by the City of New Westminster and promises to have workshops that are of interest to the various groups that will be in attendance. Everyone from the Spa owner to the general public will find something of interest here. For as little as fifteen dollars ($15) you can sample spa modalities such as Hot Stones, Swedish massage, Facials or Reflexology. So mark your calendars because the Spa Education Expo is coming to town and the place to be on April 17th and 18th 2009 is New Westminster…for the good of your health!
