American Door & Glass of S.W. VA named 2008 Small Business of the Year in Construction/Real Estate

Roanoke/Salem, VA - American Door & Glass of S.W. VA, Inc. has been named the 2008 Small Business of the Year in Construction/Real Estate by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.   American Door & Glass was recognized Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Chamber's 22nd Annual Small Business Awards dinner, held at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.

American Door & Glass was one of over 100 nominees for the Small Business Award and one of eleven nominees in the Construction/Real Estate category.  Each nominee must have been in business a minimum of three years and headquartered in Roanoke and surrounding areas of Virginia.  Local business people evaluate each nominee in terms of increased sales, employee growth, staying power, innovation and contributions to the community.  The company was nominated for the award by Tammy Givens, of First Citizens Bank.

American Door & Glass of S.W. VA was founded 15 years ago by Larry Lamanca, President of the company.  They specialize in commercial glass, Aluminum Curtain Wall Systems, Aluminum Storefront and Entrance Systems, Aluminum Windows and Patio Doors, Aluminum Composite Panels, Commercial Skylights & Canopies, Custom Glass Handrails, Fiberglass Windows and Patio Doors, Architectural Glass, Architectural Glass Canopy Arbors and offer a choice in products, services and installation throughout the Mid-Atlantic States, Southwest Virginia and the Roanoke Valley.  

In 1993, the company started with 3 employees, and today, currently employees 30 plus.  Their projects have grown from installing small retail storefronts to projects at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC,  Carilion Hospital, Roanoke, VA, Newport Condominiums, Chevy Chase, MD, DuPont Condominiums, Washington, DC, Loyola College, Baltimore, MD, Patrick Henry High School, Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley Middle School, Roanoke, VA, Center in the Square, Roanoke, VA and more.
