FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 02, 2008 -
Each month, Art After Hours is held on the second Friday, and businesses in Wake Forest offer a variety of activities in addition to staying open after normal closing times. The Storyteller’s Book Store of Wake Forest has plans to extend the time and scope of these events, with a Thursday night and Saturday morning event for Art After Hours in October.

Beginning October 9th from 7:30-9:30pm, The Storyteller’s Book Store will partner with The Wake Forest Coffee Company to present storytelling “for young adults and those who were once young adults themselves.” The inaugural storytelling presentation will feature Drew Bridges, owner of The Storyteller’s Book Store telling, “The Life and Loves of Young John Hildebran Jr.”

Each Saturday morning following Art After Hours, the store will offer readings and storytelling appropriate for elementary school age children. On October 11th, Sandra Polley, retired from 23 years of teaching at Wake Forest Elementary School, will read “fractured fairy tales,” humorous and educational pieces that are play offs of classic fairy tales.

In addition, at 2:00pm on October 11th, Pat Walters Anderson, widow of Captain William R. Anderson, will be present in The Storyteller’s Book Store to discuss her husband’s book, The Ice Diaries: The Untold Story of the USS Nautilus and the Cold War’s Most Daring Mission, about the voyage of the USS Nautilus, the submarine that first found a passage way beneath the Arctic polar ice cap.
