A San Jose-based company, Magnetic Air Cars Inc claims that the fuel-less a car could be coming by 2010. The vehicle is set to be unveiled soon at an auto show, and with all the interest in the current hybrid cars. This concept is very and ambitious and exciting many people.
The car's power is generated through special silicon storage battery that apparently has 30% more power than our current lead acid storage batteries, and takes only one hour to fully charge and with a life expectancy of at least 10 years, as was being 95% recyclable. It features three on-board air compressors that Channel pair to what many are guessing is a magnetic motor that until recently only existed in the realms of science fiction. This could be a major step towards the use of free energy devices, and certainly welcome news to our poor old environment.
A prototype is already under construction, and there is still much speculation surrounding the design, and the exact propulsion methods have not been disclosed. However, it will not require any external charging or use of fuel, only air, which surely won't please the oil companies in the least, but it is certainly a promise of a great leap forward in modern vehicle technology. Magnetic Air Cars Inc executive in charge of development, Stephen Harr is confident that the company will have little trouble raising finance for the production model, due to the huge interest in the concept.
Using compressed air as an energy source is not a new concept, but until now has not been seen as a serious competitor to traditional fuels, all that is about change and change fast according to some environmentalists.
