Gmed Services was established to assist clinics, doctors offices, dentists and nursing homes with a program to lower the costs of medical waste services in the State of Tennessee.
With the costs of health care and health care related services on the rise. Gmed Services of Antioch, TN was established to help lower the cost of medical waste transportation. Mr. Gary Gilliam, former owner of MDS of Tennessee and current president of Gmed and a veteran in this field, again has taken on the challenge of establishing a medical waste hauling company to lower the costs of medical waste transportation.
Over the last 5 years, medical waste services have risen at an alarming rate. In some cases the increase has been as much as 200%. Mr. Gilliam is again committed to lowering these costs.
In the last few years industry pricing has increased due to the introduction of the fuel surcharge, minimum stop fees and environmental fees on top of an ever increasing cost per container. Mr. Gilliam states that as many as 3 companies are using these additional charges to increase profits without informing the customer of these increases.
This procedure has complicated the billing system for the customer. One company is trying to charge a monthly fee for their service based on a set number of containers serviced annually and then charging extra for additional containers along with fuel surcharges and other related add on charges.

Mr. Gilliam only charges for the waste by the container with no additional fees. He states that his new company is growing at a rapid pace in Tennessee. Mr. Gilliam also stated that the reason for his return to this industry was due to the high prices and the lack of competition.
