RENEW International Wins Prestigious Award for Faith-Based Website

RENEW International, a Catholic organization, announced that its website, renewintl.org, received the 2008 Web Marketing Association’s Standard of Excellence award in the faith-based category. The WMA is the producer of WebAwards, the premier annual website award competition, naming the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development. “Our website is a critical part of our outreach to the people, parishes, and campuses we serve around the world,” noted Deirdre Trabert Malacrea, Director of Communications and Marketing for RENEW International. “RENEW International recognizes the essential role for web technology in supporting ministry in today’s world. We are pleased to be recognized for this effort.”

RENEW International’s website contains a wealth of features designed to support the spiritual renewal efforts of its clientele—Catholic parishes, campuses, and dioceses in the United States and in countries around the globe. The site includes a members-accessible document library with ministry tools and ideas, a discussion forum, a national events calendar, an online bookstore, and web articles on important work worldwide. “Our mission is to help churches and colleges touch and transform the lives of the parishioners and students. The web is a great way to do this,” according to Sr. Terry Rickard, OP, Executive Director of RENEW International.

RENEW’s internal web team worked with Masqueraider Marketing, a creative agency based in Hartsdale, New York to develop the graphical look and feel of the site that links it to RENEW’s imagery of a thriving tree with spreading branches. Kolaco, Inc. of Mendham, NJ developed the web pages and all web-based features as part of a custom content management system that allows RENEW staff to implement its own updates quickly and easily.
