Gina Ravera And Commonthreadz Teaming Up To Make A Difference

PR Log (Press Release) – Sep 29, 2008 – Actress Gina Ravera will launch a national VIP Special Edition T-shirt Design Contest hosted by non-profit organization “CommonThreadz” to benefit her non-profit organization “Project Reina.”

Ravera (of The Closer, The Great Debaters, ER, and Soul Food) is thrilled to be the first celebrity to partner with CommonThreadz to launch this competition.  “Project Reina is proud to stand beside CommonThreadz, with deep respect and gratitude. Together, we will harness the power of partnership and become greater forces for good,“ said Ravera, Founder and CEO of Project Reina.

CommonThreadz and Ravera are looking for a Special-Edition T- Shirt design to celebrate Gina's charity, Project Reina — a health and pro-wellness campaign created to empower young women and girls 13 to 24, especially those hardest hit in the United States by the HIV/AIDS pandemic: African Americans and Latinas. Anyone is invited to submit ideas for a great t-shirt design that reflects the cause of “Project Reina.”

Not only is Gina an accomplished actress but she is also an active philanthropist and founder of her very own charity, Project Reina. The winning design will be printed as a Special Edition T-Shirt line and sold online and in select stores. While proceeds of each shirt sold will go directly to Project Reina, CommonThreadz will give a school uniform to an orphan or vulnerable child in Africa for each shirt sold. In addition to having the design printed on the line, the winner of the design competition will also receive many other prizes and recognition.
