August 15th, area singer/songwriter Simone unveiled her new band along with a three-song demo at downtown Melbourne's popular nightclub, IMAGO. Set for a street date of February 2009, the presently titled collection dubbed 'Built To Last' promises to raise the bar for modern rock while delivering the lyrical edge for which Simone is best known.
Kicking off their set at 10:35, Simone, et.al., began with the catchy yet powerful 'Hello From The Sky'. Crowd on their feet and singing along, the band hit their stride and followed up with 'Synthetic Sugar", "Push Comes To Shove" and "Built To Last", each with vigor and a modern-rock energy that defied the small format venue. Award winning Simone continues to receive praise from the local media but is best known for her charity work.
