Marie Kemp, owner of Canine Care Company and qualified dog trainer and behaviour counsellor, is on the quest to teach young children around the North East about how to be safe around dogs. Marie and her two Border Collies, Moss and Cap, are promoting responsible dog care and have been approved as children’s educators by the Blue Cross Charity. She hopes to cut the risk of dog bite attacks on humans.
Marie started her own company two years ago dog minding and recently received specialist training on aggressive dogs on a month long course in India. She gave up her high powered career to return to her true love, dogs, and enjoy the ‘good life’. She boards dogs in her own home, giving them a holiday whilst their owners are enjoying theirs, and has successfully competed around the country in obedience competitions for a number of years.
Marie Kemp claims ‘a large amount of dog bites are due to children not understanding and respecting the difference in communication between us and them.’ She and her dogs are available to promote awareness in schools and other organisations (Brownies/Cubs)
This story is particularly timely, with dog attacks once again hitting the press. Marie’
