A webmaster is being sought for the World English-language Scrabble Players Association, to update and develop its site: www.wespa.org.
The Wespa communications subcommittee is centring attention on the website as a key medium of communications with Scrabble players.
Llewellin Jegels (Germany) has taken the job of webmaster but finds it difficult to give regular time and effort to the task.
The subcommittee will continue to issue press releases while exploring more opportunities to make use of electronic media.
Currently, press communiqués are sent to news agencies, a select list of dailies and weeklies along with Scrabble periodicals and Internet groups.
An e-zine is also being looked into to communicate to Wespa’s individual and national association members.
Roy Kietzman (Bahrain) chairs the subcommittee with Katie Rowe (Australia) also on the panel.
Communications is one of six areas that Wespa gives attention to with dictionary, ratings, rules, tournaments and youth the other concerns the association is dealing with.
