Brantford, Ontario - In the wrenchingly honest journal excerpts which make up this memoir, the author shares the profound grief of losing a mother to breast cancer along with the power of the remarkable gift she left behind. It was a gift of knowledge that would allow her daughter, and future generations, to step out from under the shadow of breast cancer.
When blood tests from both mother and daughter revealed mutations of the BRCA1 gene, which indicated that the author had an 85% chance of developing breast cancer, Tracy Hunt Casey was faced with making a life-altering decision. Guided by a positive attitude and support from family and friends, she decided to take control of her future and live a life without fear.
In All the Footprints in My Sand, Casey allows readers to experience the journey she undertook and shows them how to find the courage to face the challenges and hard decisions in their own lives.
