Safi Systems LLC has just released a new beta version of both their application server and designer (SafiServer and SafiWorkshop)
The Safi Systems Architecture consists of two primary components: the graphical design interface (SafiWorkshop)
SafiServer is the core component of the Safi Systems Architecture and has been built on enterprise level technology from ground-up with extensibility, scalability and reliability in mind. SafiServer runs applications, called Saflets, created using the graphical call flow designer SafiWorkshop. A Saflet consists of a series of "building-blocks"
The SafiServer built-in telephony component allows it to connect and control multiple PBX devices (currently only Asterisk open source PBX is available), allowing for centralized call flow/IVR services.
The other component of the Safi Systems Archicture is SafiWorkshop -- a graphical flow based designer that allows for the Saflet programmer to quickly solve the most demanding problems. Some of the features included SafiWorkshop are: an integrated SQL query editor, audio editor, scripting tools, and an integrated help system.
SafiWorkshop also has a limited version of the SafiServer embedded inside inside it. This allows SafiWorkshop the ability to test and debug Saflets (in real time) locally before deploying to a production SafiServer.
A commercial version of SafiServer is scheduled for sometime in Q1 of 2009. Safi Systems plans are to release this product in two versions:
- SafiServerSE:
- SafiServerEE:
There are currently no plans for charging for SafiWorkshop. More information in the form of screencasts, walkthrough's, and documentation is available from the company's website www.safisystems.com
