UR SuperModels, a Fresh New Model Agency based in Chicago, has been producing it's own outlandish, fashion shows all over the city to help market the agency. While building the agencies name, they cleverly help support emerging artists, designers, performers, hair/makeup artists, and charities in hope to rebuild the arts & fashion in Chicago! Already working with high fashion designers, and renowned retailers and artists, the agency has fun putting on shows like, "Not Off The Rack," Couture Fashion Show at the new posh, VIP lounge, Crescendo, in the heart of River North. They traditionally prefer spots like their Spring show at the Terra Museum of American Art on Michigan Ave, but thought it'd be a challenge to show the fashion world, that properly done, fashion can compliment the night life.
Ceo/Founder, Asha Spacek, attempts to bring a hot new remembrance to an old concept of how entertaining the exploration of fashion and the arts can be...all while displaying some of the models in her agency (minus the expected structured shows that those are accustom).
This mid-September show, first, welcomed guests with one of the agency's dynamic posers, Vanessa, at the front door amid air like a statuesque frozen beauty, where once a frolic of exotic flowers stood in a vase. As guests moved center room, select models were awaiting in less than life like poses, then shifting their movements in grace-like embraces while guests sipped their hosted Snow Queen Vodka cocktails. As the hour drew end, tango performers took center stage above the sleek, tufted seats, marble floors, and stained chandeliers, of Crescendo at 222 W. Ontario in River North. Immediately following, models came pouring out to mainstream tunes, 90's fav's, even an operatic, Kamelot finish, with foot stomping beats, and high fashion sex appeal, wrapped in fashions by various designers, who are "truely" designers. Some independent, and some still students, you would "not" see these designs on the rack.
Anything but a traditional runway, models walked above the heads of seated guests on LED lit staging, crossing paths, down center stage, and then stopping to pose on the ground in front of numerous mirrors, but not before stopping for a full LIVE posed studio style photo shoot, captured by Dyrti Martini of Fire Up Group, just one of many photographers and videographers attempting to capture a fab nite.
Hosted by Igor, of Bravo TV's, "Make Me a SuperModel,"
Sophisticated professionals immediately put in their requests for consults and purchases with the never before noticed designers Bukowski Collection, Soledad Designs, Intricate Dopeness, Indi Nicole, Audjujuan, & ACA, "All Custom Attire."
Models were styled by Griiffin, couture hair by Zion Ama Dio, MakeUp by Bethza, and fully produced by Asha Spacek and her team Griffin and Mary Alice of UR SuperModels, and sponsored by those as Fashion Chicago Magazine.
No wonder, this was editor's chosen write up in the "Red Eye", as number one, event to attend that nite!
Local media, Michigan Ave boutiques, even artists from the Marc Rubin Gallery were caught gazing at the lights, camera, action UR displayed-
