For over 50 years, education has been the cornerstone of NAFA and the upcoming Advanced Fleet Management Seminar (AFMS) continues this legacy. NAFA is fielding its most experienced and knowledgeable fleet professionals for the seminar, which is being offered October 17-19, 2008 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans.
The AFMS is an intense, upper-level course that will immerse the participant in all eight discipline modules of fleet management for both the public service and private sectors. The seminar has been designed for fleet managers with more than five years of experience. Seasoned professionals will receive a deeper level of instruction and scholarship than has ever been offered before.
“NAFA's Certification Board and Education Development Committee have teamed to create and deliver our first Advanced Fleet Management Seminar to meet the education needs of experienced fleet managers and Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) candidates,”
The seminar is broken down into eight interactive sessions, each covering one of the disciplines of fleet management in-depth. The modules covered include Asset Management, Business Management, Financial Management, Fleet Information Management, Maintenance Management, Risk Management, Vehicle Fuel Management, and Professional Development. Members of NAFA’s Certification Board will also take place in a Question and Answer segment at the end of each session. Participants will leave with their own binder of materials featuring printouts of presentation slides, sample forms on policy and procedure, valuable charts to help with lifecycle cost analysis, informative articles, and lists of terminology.
For several years, Members of NAFA Fleet Management Association have asked for an advanced training program to go along with the regular Fleet Management Seminar, which was designed for fleet managers with five years or less of experience. The AFMS keeps NAFA on the forefront as a leader of fleet management education.
“Attendees who have already worked as fleet professionals for several years, attended the Fleet Management Seminar, or reviewed the CAFM curriculum will appreciate that the time will be spent on advanced topics in each discipline,”
