Curvilinear Art, or, Insular British Art, is a very beautiful and distinctive Celtic Art which flourished through the 1st century BC until the 1st century AD. In curvilinear art none of the lines cross each other. The interlacing knot work, commonly thought of as Celtic was brought to Britain in the 6th century AD by Saxon Christian monks.
