This competition is for authors of children's book.
Mrs. Walker's "Can I Still Be President?" made it to the top ten in a nationwide competition.
Mrs. Walker has been an educator for seventeen years in the Crawford County School System. Walker says she entered this contest because she knows the type of books she would like to have available in her classroom. Mrs. Walker would love for children of all ages and races to “dream big”.
In the story, children are faced with the question “Can I Still Be President?” They learn that no matter your race, gender or disability, you can achieve great things.
Her illustrator is Mrs. Lucinda Pollack.
Mrs. Pollack says she has always loved to draw. According to Mrs Pollack, her love affair with children’s books have never ended. She still haunts the children’s sections of bookstores, but now with two children in tow.
She has dreamed of the day that she can hand to her children a book that I have proudly help create.
You may go to the website once daily beginning September 21st-October 5th and vote. The address is www.abcbookcompetition.org Click on 4th Annual Competition to find the book. The author/illustrator with the most votes will be given a contract for their book.
