Sept. 19, 2008 - PRLog -- Santa Ana, CA – Altius Information Technologies, Inc. and Merhab Robinson & Jackson are working together to help creditors become compliant with FACTA before November 1st deadline.

FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act) is a new regulation that requires creditors (firms with covered accounts such as credit card accounts, mortgage loans, automobile loans, margin accounts, cell phone accounts, utility accounts, checking accounts, and savings accounts) to develop and implement a written Identity Theft Prevention Program to detect, prevent, and mitigate identity theft. The deadline for compliance is November 1, 2008.

“Very few creditors are aware of this new regulation and may face stiff fines after the November 1, 2008 deadline. Our goal is to make sure that creditors understand FACTA requirements and are compliant before they incur penalties. In working with Merhab Robinson & Jackson, we can ensure that creditors are compliant with FACTA both from a risk/identity theft side and from a legal side. Creditors know they can have a real solution in place before the November 1, 2008 deadline,” says Jim Kelton, President of Altius IT.

Altius Information Technologies, Inc., a leader in identity theft and regulation compliance solutions, and Merhab Robinson & Jackson, a general business law firm, are working together to provide creditors with a comprehensive solution for FACTA compliance before November 1, 2008.

“Our firm established a relationship with Altius Information Technologies, an expert in the FACTA area, so we may direct our clients to an experienced source for assistance in developing an Identity Theft Prevention Program,” says Jennifer McClain, an attorney at Merhab Robinson & Jackson.
