About the Dragons
The New York Dragons, the Arena Football League Team that plays at Nassau Coliseum, have had a busy off-season. In 2008, after making their fourth playoff appearance since the team was brought to New York in 2001, the AFL Board of Directors approved the transfer of ownership of the Dragons from Islanders owner Charles Wang to a NY-based group led by Steven Silva. Since the new owners purchased the Dragons on July 25, the look of the team has been rejuvenated with a new logo, new colors, new uniform and helmet. The feel of the team has been revamped, as well, by forming key partnerships with Kerry Rhodes of the New York Jets and Danny Clark of the New York Giants, to help expand the reach of the Dragons to all football fans in the tri-state area.
