Within the framework of this year’s Beethovenfest in Bonn, Deutsche Welle commissioned Kuzma Bodrov – a 28-year-old Russian composer – to produce a new piece of music. This is the eighth time that Deutsche Welle has commissioned a piece for the Orchestra Campus. The initiative is part of the cooperation between the Beethovenfest and Deutsche Welle. It combines the yearly commissioning of new compositions and the invitation of a junior orchestra to participate in a one-week Orchestra Campus. The participants come from the most varying corners of the world – this is the first time that the initiative has addressed participants from Russia.
DW-RADIO’s Russian service will broadcast the concert live on “Radio St. Petersburg”. The national broadcaster “Radio Rossiji” will also be reporting on the event. Due to many different online partnerships, Deutsche Welle is well represented in Russia and other Russian-speaking countries. In addition, several partner stations rebroadcast programming from Deutsche Welle.
Deutsche Welle is co-partner and main media partner of the Beethovenfest and promotes the festival worldwide in 30 languages – via DW-TV and DW-WORLD.DE.
