FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Sep 17, 2008 – Jackie Fuller’s life was turned upside down when her six year old daughter Yasmine was diagnosed with cancer in late 2007.  Throughout her treatment for Retinoblastoma, Challenge brought some fun into Yasmine’s life as well as supporting the whole family. Challenge’s newest fundraising campaign The Biggest Aussie Pie Night runs throughout August raising vital funds to continue its program. Wanting to help, Jackie approached Yasmine’s school St Joseph’s Primary who immediately jumped on board this very worthy cause, organising their own Biggest Aussie Pie Lunch this Friday September 19th. To lend a hand selling pies on the day will be AFL star and 2008 All Australian Matthew Richardson. Taking time out from celebrating selection in his third All-Australian team, the Tiger will be at St Joseph’s on the day.

Between 11am-1pm at St Joseph’s Primary School in Malvern, pies are being sold to raise funds for Challenge. Principal sponsor’s of The Biggest Aussie Pie Night, Four’N Twenty are donating the pies so that 100% of funds go directly to Challenge. The iconic pie makers will also be presenting Challenge with a cheque for $67226.67 funds raised from Four’N Twenty initiatives throughout August.

Now in its 25th year, Challenge strives to improve the day to day lives of families and provide them with experiences, skills and self-confidence to embrace life and move forward on their journey. Opportunities such as meeting their favourite AFL player, having a weekend away or just having internet while in hospital can be just what the doctor ordered.

This year 18,000 people from all over Australia, lent their support to Challenge by attending almost 300 Biggest Aussie Pie Night’s to give back vital funds to help Challenge’s extensive program continue to help kids like Yasmine through their battle. Anyone can hold a pie night, at anytime throughout August by simply registering at www.biggestaussiepienight.com or by calling 1800 828 855. Get on board for 2009 and help Challenge continue to support children living with cancer and their families.
