DetroitCollegeBound.com is an independent non-government site created to help Detroit high school students better understand the college admission and financial aid process. The site was created by Detroit Public School Instructor Kesha Gayles-Brown (who also created www.bizpartnerhunt.com)

On DetroitCollegeBound.com you will find a variation of related college preparation activities which can be used in the classroom or at home to make learning all about the college admission and financial aid process fun. The contents on this site were created with economically, as well as academically disadvantaged urban public school students in mind and was created specifically for Detroit Public High School students. Many of these students do not understand the college admission or financial aid process and many times this is the reason that they do not go on to college. Several parents did not go on to college from high school and also need help understanding the college admission process and what needs to be done in order to help prepare their children for college. Understanding both the college admission and financial aid process are very important. Students who do not understand this process risk flunking out of college and also risk building great financial debt due to unnecessary educational loans, etc.
DetroitCollegeBound.com attempts to provide helpful educational resources to parents and students, provides a timeline for high school students of what to do and when to do it. It also explains the college admission and financial aid process in simple terms.
