Deschutes Brewery Earns Seven Medals

PR Log (Press Release) – Sep 15, 2008 – Judges at the L.A. County Fair Craft Beer Competition confirmed again what Oregon beer drinkers have known for years: Deschutes Brewery, http://www.deschutesbrewery.com, produces some of the best beer on the planet.

Three Deschutes Brewery beers, including Twilight Ale, Black Butte Porter and Obsidian Stout were awarded Gold medals, indicating that each beer was the highest scoring entrant in its respective style-category. Cascade Ale, Bachelor ESB, Black Butte XX and The Abyss all received bronze medals. In addition, Twilight Ale was named the 2nd runner-up for Best of Show, the highest honor of the competition.

“We’re very excited we did so well, especially considering the caliber of the competition,” says Deschutes Brewery President and Founder Gary Fish. “We won one more award this year than at the 2007 contest, so it’s a great feeling as we’re looking forward to the Great American Beer Festival next month.”
