This is a touching heart felt story of how one determined young man has set out to help a neighbor in her battle against breast cancer. Cody B. is a local 15 yr old residing in Ashville, Ohio and he's on a all out quest to raise $10,000.00 or more to help a neighbor overcome the hardships and all the things that go along with having breast cancer in the later stages.

Fran Ward is 58 yrs young and has been diagnosed with breast cancer in it's later stages. Her doctors have confirmed that the tumor is in stage 4 and has attached itself to her chest wall. Fran’s life has been one of service to others all her life. Service to others is the highest purpose that there is. There is no higher purpose! Fran is a home maker, wife, mom, and grandma. She has given her whole life to her family and community out of love and dedication making countless sacrifices for the greater good of family and community as many women do. Fran & women like Fran are America’s most unrecognized heroes. Where would America be today without loving caring dedicated homemakers, wives, moms and grand moms?

Fran has worn many hats throughout her life and now Fran has probably the biggest challenge of all before her, beating breast cancer.  Wow, what a blow this has been. Imagine for a moment that your told that you have cancer and that its terminal. One can only imagine what runs through ones mind when you receive that kind of news. Fran is bound and determined to make it through this with the help and support of her faith in god, family members, friends and one special neighbor.

Cody B. first heard of Fran's situation from Fran’s oldest son. Cody is 15 and will be getting his drivers license soon and like many boys his age just adores the older 4x4 trucks. Fran’s son, Rich has had a 78 dodge 4x4 for sale for the past year or so and Cody has been eye balling his "dream truck" every day since the for sale sign was first posted. Cody finally made his move and placed the phone call that was to set in motion a chain of events that would allow him to obtain his dream truck and help Fran and the breast cancer awareness cause all at the same time.

Rich spoke with Cody for a while and realized how much Cody just loved that truck. Cody had been saving for awhile to purchase his dream truck but was fairly short of the asking price. Rich was actively seeking to sell the truck even more now since his mom had been diagnosed with breast cancer to help his mom financially.  After they hung up Rich had an idea on how Cody could help himself, Fran, and the breast cancer awareness cause all at the same time.

Rich called Cody back and told Cody about his moms’ condition. Rich then offered Cody the following challenge. If Cody can get 1000 people to make a donation of $10.00 each to help his mom and the breast cancer awareness cause then Rich signs the truck over to Cody free and clear and he owns the very truck he's been eye balling for the past year or so.

Cody consulted with his mom and took Rich up on his offer. Cody comes from a very loving and caring family that loves to help folks no matter what may or may not be in it for them.  Cody is on a mission to raise 10K or more to help Fran in her time of need and the breast cancer awareness cause.

According to Cody "It’s not about the truck. Yea it would be nice to have it but this is really about lending a helping hand to a neighbor in a time of need and to bring about an increased awareness to breast cancer. My grandma is a cancer survivor. No matter if I get the truck or not I'm on a mission to raise 10k or more if possible to help out with a great cause."

Cody is one 15 yr old who really gets what life is all about. Service to others is the highest purpose that there is. There is no higher purpose! The maturity and understanding that Cody has at 15 years of age is truly a gift that he hopes will spread to as many people as possible. It will certainly help make this world a better place. Come join us. Support Cody in this great cause.

Please help Cody to help Fran, the breast cancer awareness cause and himself by making a small donation. When you make a donation you can also leave a few words for Fran on the paypal receipt by clicking on the link that say’s “Words for Mom”. Feel free to leave words of encouragement on her blog as well.

You can make a donation from Fran’s blog.
