MEDeDEX, LLC a web based private company provides healthcare professionals with a free electronic business card filing system, called DEXTER DESKTOP. MEDeDEX saves healthcare professionals valuable time and money by allowing users to establish a web based personalized data system, composed of supply and equipment vendors. MEDeDEX was created by a team of healthcare professionals whose goal was to enhance communication links between buyers and sellers of healthcare supplies and equipment.
MEDeDEX equips healthcare professionals with an up-to-date database which they may personalize to meet their working needs. One MEDeDEX site user from South Bend, IN said, “You will give me a program like this for free? This is going to save me lots of time.” DEXTER DESKTOP provides active communication tools for buyers of healthcare supplies and equipment, and ensures better purchasing results within the ordering process. MEDeDEX grants this free system to users along with the power to customize their own business and personal contacts. Users of MEDeDEX are able to rate individual vendors by their products and services (on a point scale) and provide written feedback. Vendors of medical equipment and supplies are able to market products throughout the site. MEDeDEX foresees over 10,000 hospitals and healthcare facilities (including private practices) will be using its system to help purchasing directors on a daily basis by 2009.
