Raleigh NC - The Concrete Countertop Industry Conference (CCIC), held August 21st through the 23rd, 2008, at the Sacramento Convention Center in California, brought together hundreds for the industry’s networking and educational event of the year. CCIC converged sponsors, well-known innovators and key leaders of the concrete countertop industry throughout the United States and Canada, and numerous exhibitors to share invaluable information, technical guidance, product demos and support to anyone who is, or wants to be, a concrete countertop professional.
Thanks to the CCIC sponsors, the conference was a huge success. This year’s CCIC was the single, most important event for concrete countertop industry professionals to attend. Conference highlights included:
· Eight in-depth seminars including a design seminar by Jeremy French and a mix design seminar by Jeff Girard, plus nine roundtable discussions featuring a variety of knowledgeable concrete countertop makers.
· Fun times at a welcome reception sponsored by enCOUNTER.
· Crowds gathering around hands on demos by enCOUNTER, Buddy Rhodes Concrete Products, PreiTech and SureCrete Design Products.
· Wildly popular Show & Tell sessions by attendees, featuring 15-minute presentations on specific projects such as massive fireplaces, creative vanities and custom embedments.
· A 40,000 square foot exhibit hall with everything concrete countertop professionals need: concrete countertop mixes, pigments, admixtures, forming systems, diamond grinding tools, sealers and more.
This year’s CCIC platinum sponsor was enCOUNTER. Gold level sponsors included Buddy Rhodes Artisan Concrete, Concrete Countertop Specialties, SureCrete Design Products and Preitech. Silver level sponsors included ConcreteNetwork.com, Diamond Products, MAXIMIZER Concrete, Concrete Countertop Supply by Fishstone, Alpha Professional Tools, Surface 519 and CHENG Concrete. Bronze level sponsors included Blue Concrete, The QUIKRETE Companies and American Acrylic. Media sponsors included Concrete Contractor, Concrete Décor Magazine and Concrete Construction. The patron sponsors were Sphere Services and Hard Rock Tool.
The fourth annual Concrete Countertop Industry Conference is planned for February 19-21, 2009 in conjunction with the Surface Fabrication and Design Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Lane Mangum, Conference Manager, explains, “We are so excited to be combining with the Surface Fabrication and Design Expo for our fourth year. By holding our conference in conjunction with the SFDE, we are able to legitimize concrete countertops as solid surface and gain the type of exposure that will boost our industry for years to come. Plus, this is a great opportunity for concrete countertop makers to meet, mingle and network with other solid surface countertop makers and designers who share similar experiences.”
