Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese form of stress reduction that also promotes healing. Reiki is administered by a technique of "laying on" hands with a gentle touch or slightly above in the person's energy field. As the Reiki energy flows, it brings about feelings of relaxation and a stronger sense of well being. Reiki energy gives your immune system a boost and enhances other health care you may be receiving. Reiki helps to release feelings of fear, anger, or resentment and replace with feelings of love, compassion, and forgiveness of self and others.
What happens in a Reiki treatment or session?
During a Reiki session the recipient lies fully clothed on a massage table or sits comfortably in a chair. The Reiki Practitioner starts the flow of Reiki energy while gently laying hands on or above the chakras and meridians of the body. This flow of nourishing energy creates a deep sense of relaxation which allows the recipient to begin his or her healing process.
