Two wheels. The wind in your face. The open road.

For over 100 years, motorcycles have inspired romance and poetry. The mystique is both revealed and deepened in Rubber Side Down: The Biker Poet Anthology.  Join us in NYC, at Chapel of Sacred Mirrors on Thursday, October 2, to celebrate the release of the first-ever collection of biker poetry.

Rallied by editor/poets JoeGo Gouveia, Peddlar Bridges, and Susan Buck of the Highway Poets Motor Cycle Club,  forty-four distinct voices from five continents share poignant emotions and fascinating perspectives:

Howling wind whips leather/Against tense arms and thighs.
I lean into the turns. / White road stripes whoosh by
The wheels leave the pavement, / Showing below, blue sky.
Ride baby, ride. / No, fly, baby, fly.
from Ride the Wind, Beth Groundwater

"You denied death / For better job opportunities."  from Evel Knievel, José Gouveia

throw yer leg across me baby / where do ya feel my thunder
i'm low and lean and mean / i'm a bobtailed lightnin wonder
from i'm chopper wired baby, blaze elliott

Later, you pull it from my hair, letting it fall, . . . then gently remove a tendril from my lips / and kiss me
...and on a cold autumn day, I still want you to kiss me
from Rubberband, Susan Buck

I'll always turn my head, / when I hear a twin roar by / Nothing else trips my trigger
from Real Bikers Never Cry, Neil Cotter

We're Motorcycle riding / Engine blasting / Line chasing /  Gravel chewing / Bug spitting
HIGHWAY POETS!
