LIFE LINKS Director and spokesperson Barbara H. Marynowski announced a life-saving informational article which was just posted on the organization’
“The two goals of this latest post (located at http://LifeLinksIEP.blogspot.com) are to help people recognize and test for the warning signs of a stroke, and to get the victims to treatment immediately, when treatment is most likely to be effective. The effects of a stoke are often reversible if the victim receives emergency medical attention within the first three hours following the incident.
“According to the American Heart Association, stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States and the third leading cause of death. Someone suffers a stroke every 45 seconds. This is an astronomical number and means that more and more people are being affected by stroke, either directly or indirectly; almost everyone now knows someone who has had their life changed by stroke. It is our intention to provide helpful information to the general public to help save lives.”
Mr. Douglas Castle, of Internal Energy Plus, contributed the article, which was inspired by a posting on a Yahoo! Newsgroup which told the tragic story of a woman whose life could have been saved if her friends had known, after she had tripped while at a party, that she had actually suffered a stroke.
Again, the article can be found at http://LifeLinksIEP.blogspot.com .
Know the signs of stroke. Get the victim to emergency treatment immediately.
