PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 11, 2008 -
Author Raybon has written a charming and informative children’s book in which rag dolls Nanny and Fannie come to life when Miss Mae leaves the house. Look around the kitchen: things are not what they seem!

Once Miss Mae is out of sight, Mr. Rooster, the resident lookout, alerts Nanny and Fannie with a “Cock-a-doodle-doo!” and the rag doll sisters spring to life. They greet the neighborhood children, who are eagerly watching through the kitchen window; the children know wonderful things happen when Miss Mae is away.

Waking up the veggies in the kitchen, Nanny and Fannie humorously teach the children how delicious and nutritious vegetables are to eat – a lesson that will change their lives and last a lifetime. However, Miss Mae will soon be home. Will the children leave in time and Nanny, Fannie and the veggies return to as they were? Or will Miss Mae discover what really happens when she leaves the kitchen? Turn the page and find out…

About the Author:
Author Charlotte Raybon’s love of vintage dolls helped to inspire this charming story in which everyday items come to life. Ms. Raybon won writing awards in high school and poetry awards from the International Society of Poets. She grew up in New York City and lives in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Her debut novel, Meet the Veggie . . . What Happens in Miss Mae’s Kitchen?, is the first in a series featuring Miss Mae’s kitchen. Ms. Raybon credits H.J. Hale Turner, author of Orange Clouds, Blue Skies, and Maxine Billings, author of Time for Hope, with reinvigorating her love of writing. When not putting pen to paper, Ms. Raybon volunteers her time to various organizations and enjoys reading, music, traveling and, of course, doll collecting.
