BERKELEY, Ca.  -- Encouraged by Senator Barack Obama’s March speech, the “National Conversation on Race” initiative is intended to foster honest dialogues on race in homes, workplaces, and communities all over the country.

This initiative will be launched September 19th (6:00pm – 9:30pm) & 20th (9:00am – 4:00pm), 2008, at the First Congregational Church of Oakland at 2501 Harrison Street, Oakland, CA 94612.

Lee Mun Wah, Diversity Trainer and Director of StirFry Seminars, says, “With Walking Each Other Home: A National Conversation on Race, we hope to create a space for people of all walks of life to get to meet each other and to truly hear each others’ stories, and to reach a place of compassion and understanding in order to begin a relationship based on trust and acceptance.”

On Friday, September 19, there will be a film showing of the documentary Last Chance for Eden, directed by Lee Mun Wah, followed by a discussion on race.  $10 for Adults and $5 for Students, Seniors & Children. On Saturday, September 20, there will be a FREE workshop on how to host a small group conversation on race in the home, workplace and community. Both events will be facilitated by diversity trainers Lee Mun Wah and Linda Compton.

Individuals can purchase tickets to Friday’s film showing and discussion online at www.walkingeachotherhome.com or at the door on the night of the event.
