Umuahia, - Olunkwa Ikechukwu today announced the launching of his pixel selling website - TheImpatientSun.com. The Website fully elucidates the pains, sorrows, tears and frustrations of "living in a world, where you slave for more than 6 months to make $50". From bitter personal experience and harrowing encounters with street hawkers, petty traders, “who are mostly underage girls and women” trying to fend for their families, Ikechukwu believes that cooperative societies and micro lending is the economic catalyst Africa needs to improve the economic life in rural areas and empower this marginalized, voiceless minority, giving them a new lease to life.
The website follows a defining moment in his life, an event he witnessed that transformed him and spurred him to action. The decision led him to micro lending and cooperative societies as a tool for poverty alleviation and reduction.
The micro lending internship training will expose Olunkwa Ikechukwu to the spirit, passion and vision of the world renowned micro lending pioneer Prof. Yunus. The internship training will also equip him to fully express his unique ideas on implementing micro lending programs in rural South East Nigeria.
The Impatient Sun website has a million pixels; each Impatient Sun Pixel is $1. The mode of payment is Bank Wire. The website has an About Impatient Sun Page – an account of the event that led to the building of the Pixel Site. The Site also has a blog for clients and visitors to monitor the progress of the pixel selling and share ideas on the project and micro lending.
The money raised from the pixel selling will go to fund Olunkwa Ikechukwu’s trip to Bangladesh; covering air fare, accommodation, feeding and other miscellaneous expenses. In the event of all the pixels being fully subscribed, the fund will go to setting up a Cooperative Micro Lending Society in South East Nigeria.
