EUNETWORKS PROVIDES DARK FIBER CONNECTIVITY FOR DUTCH INTERNET SERVICES PROVIDER
Amsterdam/Netherlands, 09 September 2008 – euNetworks, (SGX: H23.SI), Europe’s foremost provider of mission-critical, extreme performance and capacity data services to large corporates, carriers and services providers, today announced it has completed an agreement with Dutch Internet Services Provider Concepts ICT. Under the terms of the agreement, euNetworks will deploy fiber|nex, a dedicated private fiber solution in Amsterdam, supporting the rollout of fiber-to-the-
home and further Internet and hosting services in the Dutch capital.
Concepts ICT focuses on providing internet solutions to high-end consumers as well as small and medium sized enterprises and is one of the foremost providers of fiber-to-the-
home services in the Netherlands. Concepts ICT required the highest levels of flexibility and reliability in their solution to support their fiber network solutions in Amsterdam. euNetworks designed and deployed fiber|nex, fully redundant dark fiber to point connections, which form a ring architecture between Concept ICT’s main datacenter locations. Due to the end2end ownership of their networks, euNetworks deliver the highest levels of redundancy and single point of contact Service Level Agreements (SLA) in the industry.
Paul Wijngaard, General Manager of Concepts ICT, said: “Fiber-to-
the-Home is highly superior compared to traditional DSL, let alone Dial in. It is the next generation network. Therefore, Concepts ICT participates in several large Fiber-to-the-
Home projects in The Netherlands, for instance in Amsterdam, Enschede and Deventer. A good example is our cooperation with Reggefiber in Deventer, where we experienced enormous growth. 45% of all consumers have chosen a Concepts ICT Fiber-to-the-
Home based subscription for Internet, telephony and TV during the roll-out phase of the network. This emphasizes the enormous potential of this access network technology.“
“The reliance on telecommunications continues to accelerate, driving demand for mission critical, high capacity communications solutions delivered on fiber optic platforms - the panacea to slow, limited capacity copper based networks. Frost & Sullivan predicts that fiber-to-the-
home networks will reach more than 14 million European households by 2012 and one telecommunications provider after the other spends millions to upgrade their existing infrastructure,”
said Barry Nolan, COO of euNetworks. “We were in the unique position to provide Concepts ICT with the required private fiber solution in Amsterdam due to our extensive fiber optic infrastructure in the Netherlands and in Amsterdam in particular.”
