PR Log (Press Release) – Sep 09, 2008 – Survivor Philippines is the upcoming Philippine version of the reality television series Survivor. Veteran TV host Paolo Bediones has been chosen to host the show. At the first audition in Davao, Bediones revealed that the prize money will be the largest in the history of reality shows in the Philippines: in addition to the title of Sole Survivor, the contestant who lasts the longest will also win 3,000,000 pesos (US$70,000).

Auditions were held in six Philippine cities in May 2008. From these interviews, approximately 18 contestants will be selected to participate on the show in June 2008,. The show was shot in Ko Tarutao, the same island where Survivor: Thailand took place, from July to August, 2008.

This series will start on September 15, 2008. While the show will be aired as a daily show rather than a weekly one, all elements of the Survivor franchise are otherwise present. The names of the tribes are derived from the Thai language: Nâak (นาค) and Jàràkây (จระเข้), meaning snake and crocodile respectively.
