New York, New York – Brooklyn Films announces the release of a music video to promote their original hip-hop song “Nobody Cares About Your F-in Kids On Facebook” performed by the cast of its animated web series Cowch Potatoes. The animated comic strip series is based on two lovable twenty-something slackers named Franklin & Tyrell.
“The rap song was the brainchild of Uri Rosen, series co-writer. He was getting tired of all the kiddie photos up on Facebook and wanted to use song lyrics as a way to vent. He approached me with the idea and a song was created with hip-hop being the natural medium,” notes Robin Adams. “I liked the idea since I have been producing karaoke videos for the series since the beginning and it was a natural extension to that – an original song and video. They handed off a terrific finished product and I then spent three weeks animating the video with images from facebook playing on the TV to support the lyrics. This was a much more complex animation since I wanted it to have the look of a real music video, which we have shot dozens of, but with cartoon characters,”
Reminiscent of former animated icons Beavis & Butt-head, the premise of the two to three minute animated episodes is that Franklin Roosevelt Kowalski, a twenty-three year old, obese, part-time KFC employee sits all day watching TV on his couch which he shares with his best friend Tyrell Akeem Schwartz, a similarly-aged, unemployed, self-proclaimed ladies’ man, currently living in his grandmother’
