Sept. 6, 2008 - PRLog -- Washington, DC—Frank Naif, former intelligence officer, and author of the recently published Super Secret: Bungling and Crookery will make a rare appearance at SPX Oct. 4 & 5 at the Marriott/White Flint in Rockville, Maryland.

“I’m very excited to attend this year’s SPX event as an exhibitor,” states Naif, also author of the comic strip National Security Drone.  “Many of my musing and observations on national security are inspired by true events that happened while living and working in DC.  It is home, and on so many fronts I’m willing to take a stand, laugh at myself and to protect my home.”

Naif, an army veteran, former CIA officer and government contractor, is uniquely qualified to comment on the current state of affairs.

“Frank’s blog and comic book are written in the voice of an insider with a soul and a conscience,” says Tim Shorrock, a long-time investigative reporter and author of Spies for Hire: The Secret World of Intelligence Outsourcing.  “When you read his stuff, you know he’s coming from a sense of both absurdity and pride that few commentators on national security can match. For those who like to keep up with spying and black ops, this book is a treasure.”

Naif is also proud of the fact that he submitted and received approval for all his material from the Central Intelligence Agency Publication Review Board.  Upon receiving approval from the Review Board, Naif stated, “Truth need not fear accountability, checks, balances and honor.”

In its thirteenth year SPX is described as “the preeminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent.”  This year, Naif will be present signing books and discussing national security, current affairs and upcoming projects.  To order Super Secret: Bungling and Crookery, or to learn more about Frank Naif visit him on line at www.nationalsecuritydrone.com.

As with every year all profits from SPX will go to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, protecting the First Amendment rights of comic book readers and professionals.  For more information on SPX visit www.spxpo.com.
