About the Founder:
James Lisbon was born 1967 in the Fort Greene section of
Brooklyn and is the youngest of four boys. After
graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, James
continued his education, attended both Howard University

In 1990, after the birth of his first child,
James worked 4 years as an accounting clerk at the
prestigious law firm Wilson Elser Moskowitz, Edleman
and Dicker before looking for another challenge at Chase
Manhattan Bank. In 1997 James went on to work for
accounting firm giant KPMG. It was at KPMG that James
decided to branch out as a jazz promoter for The
Williamsburgh Music Center, an 18 year old institution,
helping to lay a strong foundation in graphic design and
marketing before launching AMAG /Awareness Magazine
in 2001.
AMAG-a national publication-
raising the entrepreneurial spirit in all, especially those
apprehensive about their vision. After being in print for 5
years, AMAG is a still renowned, respected sought after bimonthly
online publication. Relishing the publishing
industry, coupled with the excitement of disseminating
information and helping fellow business owners receive
emotional branding, James felt it only natural to produce a
publication targeting a more diverse demographic while
simultaneously concentrating on a specific area. In the last
6 years James has written for over a dozen publications on
topics ranging from fatherhood to creative ways to market
your product.
In addition to volunteering, speaking to groups and serving on boards, James has interviewed and worked with scores of celebrities, authors, actors,
politicians and youth groups. James currently works at an advertising research company in the Soho section of Manhattan and lives in Queens with his wife, four children and their faithful dog.
The Queens Light will reach the multicultural population of
Lefrak City, Park City, Sherwood Village and the 10 block radius that surround these communities. Readers will be provided with unique and motivational articles.
