Follow on Google News | Author Tahiera Monique Brown will be Keynote Speaker for “BEAR-y Enchanted" EventOn September 13, 2008, Birmingham resident Tahiera Monique Brown will serve as the keynote speaker for the Exchange Club Family Skills Center, at their “BEAR-y Enchanted” Event at the McWane Science Special Event Center.

Tahiera will share a special presentation entitled, "A Little Voice Is Lost: Who Will Speak for the Child”. Copies of Annihilator of Innocence will be available for sale at the event. The "Bear-y Enchanted Event' comprises a children and teens fashion show, teddy bear adoption with certificate, and a silent auction. Clothes will come from such shops as The Lili Pad, Gigi's, and Susan G. Matthews and Dance-N-Things. Entertainment will be provided by Miss Kelley’s School of Dance. Teddy bear adoption is dubbed "give a bear a den." Each teddy bear comes with a biography, birth certificate and adoption papers. The bear is the logo for the Family Skills Center. The Exchange Club was founded in 1987 and offers parenting classes, support groups and other services, all free of charge. The purpose is to prevent child abuse. Catering will be provided by Dreamland BBQ. The event is sponsored by Consolidated Power Supply, Alabama Power Service Organization, Serra Automotive Group, and Motion Industries. The McWane Science Special Event Center is located on the corner of 2nd Avenue North and 19th Street North in Downtown Birmingham. The address is 200 19th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203. Event tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 5 and 18.
