Being a business-owner myself, I found that my small budgets could not afford the positioning needed to draw in good leads from co-op print mediums and online ads were of little value. Pricing on ad space is traditionally based on ambiguous statistics and speculation which did not reflect the value of the ad space to my own needs. What was worse was that I could never squeeze a guarantee of any kind from the advertising agencies I was using. By the time it was over, I was simply using all the profits gained from successful marketing efforts to pay for the unsuccessful ones. That, my fellow merchants, is not “making money”, but rather…”moving money”. As a marketing agent I wish to change that concept entirely.
In 2008 AJS Promotional Media is launching the first series of online websites to promote local sales in the Cincinnati markets. We plan to launch 3 sites in each quarter of 2009 and have a total of 50 websites optimized for keyword search by the fall of 2010. These will be followed with direct mail and in-store print media. What this does is gives us positioning with search engines, a higher percentage of overall search engine traffic, and inevitably higher traffic rankings with maintenance overhead far lower than print.
