Acoustic Soul Singer-Songwriter Ka-Chi follows up the critically acclaimed
debut EP Soul Liberty - demo sessions with another dose of musical truth and
ingenious lyrical dexterity.
This sophomore effort has been a year and a half in the making, during which
Ka-Chi has toured extensively to promote the debut release and get his message
of “Soul Liberty” across to as many people as possible. The album will continue
along the three tenets of “Soul Liberty” as Ka-Chi defines it:
1. Seeking freedom
2. Living in truth
3. Pursuing happiness through love
The artist cites Abraham Maslow’s theory of self actualization in defining Soul
Liberty as his new direction and philosophy upon leaving an engineering career
in 2006 and pursuing music full time.
“It’s been a long and arduous journey. I’ve seen many people and many places,
many smiles and many sad times, times of plenty and times of want and need,
but it’s been a journey that’s been well worth the ride for the sake of soul
liberty. After the Soul Liberty EP, I toured the Mid-Atlantic and east coast for a
few months while still residing in Towson Maryland. Then in November 2007 I
packed up my valuables and musical equipment, booked dates all over the east
coast and mid-west and hit the road. I came back to Maryland early 2008 to
finish recording Come on Home after which I took a trip out to the San
Francisco Bay area for a Northern California tour. This new album is aptly titled
Come on home because for the last year or more, the road has been my home.”
The new album Come on Home features full band productions and a few
signature acoustic features that his family of listeners and supporters have
come to recognize.
Come on Home is set to wrap up Ka-Chi’s experiences over his travels into this
lyrically packed CD. Expect the usual folksy Afro-Caribbean rhythms and
soulful, mid-tempo tales of life, love, joy, and pain told in musical terms that
only Ka-Chi can express. The album release is set for August 2008. For more
