The contract entails a converged communications assessment, deployment, an upgrade of the existing infrastructure, expansion of the IP network at its Bangalore office, as well as Uptime maintenance services. The contract is the first phase of the company’s plans in improving their unified communications infrastructure.
The integrated news agency wanted to optimise its existing IP network by integrating its Closed User Group (CUG), as well as its current Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) onto the same IP network. The company also wanted to expand its IP network in Bangalore as it goes on an expansion spree.
Datacraft India undertook an assessment service to help the client identify the current network topology, technology, traffic types, and volumes key, and to assess the impact of IP telephony (IPT) on its current network and its applications, so as to ensure a seamless and successful IPT deployment. The Datacraft team also proposed an IPT deployment methodology service to ensure that the expanded network is optimised to deliver the IP advantage of reliable and scalable communications with associated cost savings.
Datacraft’s proposed solution was approved by the client’s IT teams both locally and from U.S. headquarters, before Datacraft was awarded this converged communications solution deal to assess and optimise the existing infrastructure and expand the IP network at its Bangalore office.
As part of the contract, Datacraft also deployed 1,000 IP phones along with core switches using the Datacraft IPT deployment methodology service.
Datacraft will also provide Uptime powered by Cisco services to the client. Uptime powered by Cisco Services is a collaborative service offering developed by the Datacraft Cisco Global Services Alliance. By signing up for Uptime powered by Cisco Services, the client will benefit from Cisco's industry-leading technology expertise and problem escalation to the Cisco Technical Assistance Centre, as well as Datacraft's enhanced service value including flexible Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and local language helpdesk support.
