Back-to-School Contest from Pentel Gives Participants Chance to Win Cameras and More!

Enter at www.YourSmoothestLine.com. Enter your best "Smooth" Line. Just like Pentel's HyperG pen that writes smooth lines!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 03, 2008 -
Pentel Buzz teams will be on college campuses this fall videotaping students giving their “Smoothest Line.”

An example of a smooth line (also known as a pickup line) is “I brought you this cold one ‘cause you look really hot.” Prizes for winning entries include pens, cameras, gaming systems or the grand prize of a trip to Panama City for a week in 2009.

Pentel of America, a leading provider of writing instruments, office products, and art materials, wants to hear your “Smoothest Line.”  The contest was born out of the idea that the Pentel HyperG pen is one of the smoothest writing pens on the market.

A panel of judges will review the videos and the selected videos will move to the next round until the finalists are chosen. Peers will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite “Smoothest Line”. Participants aged 18 and older can upload their own smoothest line to a dedicated website beginning August 15. Go to www.yoursmoothestline.com to access “The Smoothest Line” contest site**.

Perfect for taking notes in class, or writing a “smooth-line” note to pass to that favorite person during class, the HyperG pen uses high-performance archival-quality gel ink that makes it write smoothly.

“College students use some type of writing instrument everyday, whether it’s a pen, highlighter, or marker,” said De Verges Jones, Director of Marketing for Pentel. “The HyperG pen, known for its smooth writing style, is also known as a pen that won’t hurt the environment. It’s made from recycled plastic but it’s also refillable so the user can keep the pen and it won’t end up in the landfill. It’s an easy way to go green at school!”

Ecologically aware students will love the HyperG pen for its environmentally friendly benefit. The HyperG is made from 57% Recycled Plastic* and is part of the Pentel Recycology family of products.

In addition, the gel ink is AP non-toxic. The pen has a sleek new diamond cut barrel design with silver accents and is available in black, blue, red, and violet ink and barrel colors.

College students will be able to sample the pens, as the Pentel Buzz Squad will be handing out pens on the college campuses during the videotape sessions.

Known for quality and innovation, Pentel is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of writing instruments and art materials. Pentel’s Recycology™ Program is a way of helping the environment by reducing the amount of waste and increasing recycling activity during manufacturing. The Recycology™ products have the same quality, reliability, and dependability as other Pentel products.
