Gardiner, NY -- July 22, 2008 -- Noreen Girao always dreamed of being a cowgirl. Growing up in suburban New Jersey, she always knew that one day, she'd look out her kitchen window and see...horses.
In the early 1990's, she and her husband moved to rural NY state. Noreen acquired a retired racehorse and kept it at a nearby thoroughbred breeding, training and retraining facility. Noreen spent ten years learning from experts in every field of horse care and training. With over 60 horses on site, Noreen acquired a wealth of knowledge from a wide range of experts.
When the stable owner began to think about retiring and selling the farm, Noreen knew she should move her horse to her house. With the support, wisdom and generous input of a community of horse care experts and professionals, Noreen finally felt like she was ready to take on the responsibility of full time, home-based horsekeeping. This community of experts continues to provide inspiration and knowledge.
Watching all of these preparations from a safe distance was her co-worker and next door neighbor, Moira Clune. Moira had no cowgirl dreams, but she knew a head full of valuable information when she saw it. She suggested they start a website to share some of Noreen's horsekeeping knowledge.
PracticalHorsekeeping.com is the result of their collaboration. Noreen's extensive, hands-on knowledge and love of horses is complemented by Moira's research and writing skills. Together they bring you "helpful horse care information with a practical twist!"
