Gorence, a Blues Farm Records indie artist, has been a one man show for some time, but not all the time. In his spare time he plays live with Santa Fe's “The Jakes”.
The label, Blues Farm Records, referred to as the little label that could, is a native of New Mexico. Based in Clovis, BFR specializes in a southwestern style of music that is mixed with elements of rock, country, blues and more. Other artists with the label are Sansietch and Mark Kelley.
Gary Gorence's debut CD has 12 songs, and some of the sweetest New Mexican slide guitar ever. The album is infused with blues and southern rock moments, but it is strung together by something else, the undeniable open road and southwestern hot air.
