Jennifer Logue may not look very threatening, but she can pack a mean punch, vocally that is, and hold her own with the boys in studios and jam sessions, whipping out her guitar, crafting melodic pop songs with poignant lyrics. Although barely 5’3’’ and quite soft- spoken in person, Jennifer defies all expectations the minute she starts to sing, gifted with a powerhouse set of chops that seems to blend the very best of blues, rock, and country.
Jennifer was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and has been pursuing a career in music since her early days in St. Monica’s grade school choir. She knew early on that she wanted to be a singer and by the time she entered high school, she knew she wanted to be a songwriter as well. “I was just one of those lucky people who had it figured out from the get- go. I sort of just popped out singing. Singing and songwriting is as natural to me as breathing,” Jennifer says.
After graduating high school, Jennifer packed up her bags and guitar for New York City, putting her dreams to the test. She attended Fordham University on scholarship and honed her skills both musically and intellectually. While she was working as a session vocalists and performing with various NYC bands, Jennifer was also working towards a double-major in English and Spanish literature. “This really took my songwriting to a whole new level, especially in terms of lyrics,” she says. The bar was raised for me. When you study the poetry of Wordsworth, Cesar Vallejo, EE Cummings, you see how powerful words can be.”
As if Jennifer wasn’t busy enough singing and studying, she managed to squeeze in an internship at Atlantic Records, where her talent was recognized by her current manager, Derrick Watson, of EMR Entertainment. “I was blown away by Jennifer’s many talents. She’s every A&R’s dream come true. She’s going to shake up this industry.”
Jennifer graduated from college in May 2007 and has been on the fast track to success, recording her debut album, soon to be released in October, and setting off on a tour of the East Coast, which includes gigs in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
Expect much more to come from the pint- size beauty with the big voice. She’s a show stopper and may be performing in a city near you. To check out her Woman in Me EP, music videos, and tour dates, check out Jennifer’s official myspace: www.myspace.com/
